چکیده

To investigate fracture properties and find analytical solutions of parameters at rock-concrete interface, three-point bending tests were performed on the composite specimens with different degrees interface roughness. Numerical simulations conducted to analyse crack propagation process zone evolution interface. For convenient applications in practice, a series derived or curve-fitted calculate The results indicate that roughness degree has significant effects With increase degree, energy, critical length double-K exhibit obvious increasing tendencies. Meanwhile, ratio unstable toughness concrete is much less than initial toughness, indicating weaker cohesive effect compared concrete. In addition, fully formed FPZ corresponding ligament decrease. characteristic proved decrease larger brittle behaviour degree. Finally, expressions under loading, including mode-I stress intensity factor,

Effect of Rock Fracture Filling on Mode I and II Fracture Toughness

This paper focuses on some fracture toughness tests performed on the pre-cracked Brazilian specimens of rock-like materials. Also the effect of rock fracture filling on the fracture toughness was considered experimentally.  Fracture toughness is a key parameter for studying the crack propagation and fragmentation processes in rock structures. Fracture mechanics is an applicable tool to improve ...

Hydraulic fracture propagation: analytical solutions versus Lattice simulations

In this work, we used a grain-based numerical model based on the concept of lattice. The modelling was done to simulate the lab experiments carried out on the mortar samples. Also the analytical solutions corresponding to the viscosity-dominated regime were used to estimate the fracture length and width, and the results obtained were compared with the numerical simulations. As the analytical so...

Fracture Behavior and Properties of Functionally Graded Fiber-Reinforced Concrete

In concrete pavements, a single concrete mixture design is selected to resist mechanical loading without attempting to adversely affect the concrete pavement shrinkage, ride quality, or noise attenuation. An alternative approach is to design distinct layers within the concrete pavement surface which have specific functions thus achieving higher performance at a lower cost. The objective of this...
